The lessons are alright I guess, but the culture stuff don’t feel very real. Some parts seems old and a bit awkward, like it wasn’t made by someone who really knows how people talk or live now.

I was surprised by how real the native voices sound — more like actual people talking than those stiff classroom recordings. I’m usually a bit wary if I ever have to deal with customer service for apps like this, but the audio itself has been solid.

I used Pimsleur for a few weeks before I traveled, i was impressed with how much it helped me. I’m definitely speaking from my own experience, but I felt way more comfortable ordering food, asking basic questions, and understanding simple replies than I expected. I liked that I could do the lessons while walking or driving, because that made it easy for me to actually stick with it. It’s not some magic shortcut, but for travel basics, I found it super useful

I really appreciate that the audio lessons focus on actual conversations instead of just throwing random vocabulary at you. It makes the material feel more useful and applicable in real life. There’s also some reading practice and a few extra features depending on the language, which is a nice bonus. That said, after a while, I did find myself wishing there were a bit more variety in the topics, since some lessons can start to feel a little repetitive. Still, it’s a solid program and definitely helpful if you’re trying to build speaking and listening skills.

I really like how Pimsleur shows my progress after each lesson. Compared to other language apps I’ve tried, it feels easier to see what I’ve actually finished and what’s next. It’s a small feature, but it helps keep me motivated and makes it less likely that I’ll lose track

I’ve been using Pimsleur mostly while driving or doing dishes, that’s probably when it’s been the most useful. I like that I don’t have to keep looking at my phone to follow along. The lessons are simple to get into, even when I’m half-focused on something else. I’m taking off a star because some sections repeat more than they probably need to, like they’re stretching things out a bit, but overall it’s still been a helpful way to learn when I’m busy

Billing seemed clear enough to me, and I’m sure everything was laid out fine. I was able to cancel without much hassle, though it did take me a little while to find the cancel button. Overall, it was a decent experience.

I started using this a while back, maybe around March or April, and it’s been helpful for improving my listening. I can catch more words now than I could before. Speaking still feels a bit slow for me, though, so I wouldn’t say it fixed everything. But for listening practice, it’s been good.

It seems like a good app overall, but I was kind of hoping they’d have the language I’m trying to learn. Maybe they’ll add more options in the future...

Just a heads up though, if you’re hoping to improve your writing, it’s limited. I didn’t find much help with spelling, grammar, or getting any real feedback on what I wrote, so I ended up needing other apps for that.

Overall, I’d say it’s fine if your main goal is speaking and understanding conversations, but I wouldn’t rely on it for writing practice. If writing is important to you, be warned that you’ll probably need something else alongside it

I mostly use pimsleur during my train rides, and the offline access is probably my favorite thing about it. I can download a few lessons at home and not stress about losing signal or burning through data once I’m on the train. It pretty much works the whole trip, even when my phone is barely connected to anything. That said, the app itself feels basic, and sometimes I wish there was a little more to it. But for keeping up with language practice every day without much hassle, it does the job really well.
